Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 to a musically inclined family in Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston Jr. They are also cousins of the singer Dionne Warwick. Whitney's mother and her began singing professionally at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark at the age of fifteen years old. They performed the back vocals for Chaka Khan's track in 1978 Im Every Woman. She went on to provide the backing vocals of Jermaine and Lou Rawls as well as her own mother and did a brief stint as a model appearing on the front cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The singer was first a featured singer for New York-based New York Funk band Material. The quality of her vocal performance attracted the attention of major record label Arista where she signed up in 1983. The first Whitney Houston album was released in the year 1985. It became one of the top-selling albums by an artist. It featured a number of hits like How Will I Know You're Good to Me, Saving all My Love For you and The Greatest Love of All. It was instrumental in her achieving seven US charts-topping singles in a row which was more than the Beatles. The album's debut US year the album had sold more than 3 million copies. After that, it was to be bought by over millions of people around the world, earning her the first Grammy. The 1987 follow-up album Whitney featuring the hit songs The Place Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built upon her successes, but it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard (1992) that made her one of the most successful artists of all time. Although the film and the performance of her in it were not highly appreciated, the album's soundtrack and her version to the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of charts for albums and singles for months, and was sold at 44 million copies across the world. In the same year, she was married to Bobby Brown who was a ex- New Edition singer. She had their sole daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married in the month of March, 1993. In 1996 her daily use of drugs was documented.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchor and political reporter. The anchor has also created certain of the network's Sunday shows such the Evans & Novak' Late Edition as well as Inside Politics.'
