Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B in a signature mix. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, Sunshine has performed anywhere. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta Her roots lie situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop as an artist by playing the piano and singing in the church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the city's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan The song has been re-mixed by many producers and remains a mainstay of her live set. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who performed on stage in the production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the leader of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine received national attention for her daily shows in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
